The End of Something Extraordinary
So, this week concluded my high school basketball career. It was really bittersweet, just knowing that I have played with most of the girls since eighth grade. It seems like high school has gone by so fast, and it is so surreal. This year has had a lot of ups and downs, but through every trial I have had to go through, I have come out stronger. I have had the honor of being apart of a two-time state champion team, and that team has become my family. I think it is amazing to know that our team really is a family. It has taught me so many things about my life. It has taught me to fight, and to never give up on something that you want. Basketball has helped me to get through everything I have gone through in my four years of high school. When I would step out onto that court, everything else would disappear and it would completely relieve me for the time being. It became my safe zone. I hope you all get the chance, if you haven't already, to be a part of something so amazing. To be apart of a team that has seen you at your absolute worst and your best. I am so thankful for the amazing four years that I had with my team. They are extraordinary people, and I will miss them dearly.

It's crazy to think that in 3 months we will graduate and we'll all go off in different ways. But no matter what we'll be linked through all the ups and downs we've gone through. I loved watching you play basketball because you were super into the game and so intense! :) haha love you Kay-Kay!!
ReplyDeleteI love this. I wish there were words to describe how much the St. Joseph Lady Jayhawk basketball team has meant to me. You guys have literally been there from the moment I meant Katherine, to my wedding, and the birth of my son.
ReplyDeleteAw this makes me sad realizing were going to be graduatiing soon. The days are getting closer. I'm gonna miss some of the people I grew up with my entire life. So sad but awesome to think were all going to do great things in this world.
